Overcoming the challenges
As with any major project, the journey of Worldpark has had to overcome several challenges along the way.
Impact of the global financial crisis
The most significant of these was the global financial crisis. This had financial impacts on the property development. According to Coffey International Development Group Executive, Glen Simpson, “There were times when we got together with our partners and wondered how we would weather the storm. We were so fortunate to have Axiom working with us. The boards of both organisations had the tenacity and vision to complete the project because of their belief in the principles behind it.”
Challenges of co-locating Coffey’s unique service line businesses
This move unites seven Coffey businesses into the one building. Alongside the logistical issues associated with this, one of the other major challenges facing the project team was how to incorporate Coffey Information’s fully functioning laboratory into a five green star building. With creative thinking and determination the end goal of locating all Coffey people in the one building was achieved.
